Privacy at Bento OS.
This page covers what we collect on bybento.co, why, and how you can get it changed or removed. It's written in plain language, not legalese.
Who we are
Bento OS is a product from ByBento (Pty) Ltd, based in Cape Town, South Africa. The responsible party for the purposes of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) is ByBento (Pty) Ltd. Contact: roy@bybento.co.
What we collect on this page
When you join the waitlist, we store:
- Your email address
- Optionally, which role you identify with (producer, freelancer, or client)
- The referrer URL your browser sent (the page that linked you here)
- A timestamp of when you signed up
We don't use cookies or third-party analytics on this page.
Why we collect it
To let you know when Bento OS opens for early access, and to understand who's interested so we can shape the first release well. That's the whole reason.
Where it's stored
Waitlist entries are stored in an Airtable base owned by ByBento (Pty) Ltd. Airtable's own privacy and security policies are at airtable.com/privacy.
How long we keep it
Until you ask us to delete it, or until Bento OS has launched and you've either taken up early access or told us you're no longer interested. After launch, we may periodically clear stale entries.
Who we share it with
Nobody. We won't sell it, rent it, or pass it to third parties for marketing.
Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to ask us what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Email roy@bybento.co and we'll respond within a reasonable period. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.
